Plant 2,900 native trees around Unity Beach in Mumbai
Help us clean and replant Unity Beach before the October planting window closes.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India1,451 views
Unity Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 97 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 116 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $250
• Tools and protective gear: $70
• Waste removal and skip hire: $45
• Signage and educational materials: $35
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Rooting for you, Pari. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Greetings from Jakarta.
Hope things get better soon, Pari. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Bahir Dar this morning. Take care
