Plant 2,800 native trees around Harmony Beach in Abuja
A neighborhood-led restoration of Harmony Beach needs $300 for saplings and equipment.
Anywhere in the world1,022 views
Harmony Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 88 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 87 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $300 goes:
• Signage and educational materials: $20
• Waste removal and skip hire: $100
• Native saplings and stakes: $180
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Peace?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about signage and educational materials, advice is welcome too. It helps to be asked.
