Plant 2,350 native trees around the Harmony riverbank in Addis Ababa
Volunteers are restoring the Harmony riverbank in Addis Ababa; $350 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.

The Harmony riverbank has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 74 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 194 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $350 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $150
• Tools and protective gear: $85
• Waste removal and skip hire: $95
• Signage and educational materials: $20
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings

Praying for you. Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Ikeja so I could bring a meal.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Port Harcourt so I could bring a meal.
Rooting for you. More neighborhoods should do this. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from San Jose.
