Plant 2,250 native trees around Harmony Creek in Odesa
Volunteers are restoring Harmony Creek in Odesa; $400 covers saplings, tools and waste removal.
🇺🇦 Ukraine984 views
Harmony Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This July, 91 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 115 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $400 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $140
• Tools and protective gear: $135
• Waste removal and skip hire: $120
• Signage and educational materials: $5
With deep gratitude,
Alina

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Alina
Sure. The biggest one is native saplings and stakes, $140. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one.
