Plant 2,150 native trees around Harmony Creek in Bellevue
A neighborhood-led restoration of Harmony Creek needs $2,700 for saplings and equipment.
🇺🇸 Bellevue, Washington, United States1,557 views
Harmony Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This February, 48 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 137 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the local forestry office, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $1,200
• Tools and protective gear: $500
• Waste removal and skip hire: $790
• Signage and educational materials: $210

Good luck, Russell. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Aurangabad donated after I showed her your page. All the best.
sending love, Russell. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Ballarat.
