Plant 1,900 native trees around Union Creek in Gwagwalada
Help us clean and replant Union Creek before the November planting window closes.
Anywhere in the world1,386 views
Union Creek has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 74 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 42 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
We'll post planting day photos and a count of every sapling planted.
Where the $250 goes:
• Waste removal and skip hire: $110
• Native saplings and stakes: $120
• Tools and protective gear: $20
Every share and every dollar helps.

Sending good thoughts, Yinka. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update
Take care, Yinka. This could happen to any of us. Love from Addis Ababa.
