Parma
Maple Beach has been used as an informal dump for years. This September, 54 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 101 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good. We have a plan agreed with the municipal water board, including native species selected by a local botanist. The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade. All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials. Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage. Where the $1,350 goes: • Native saplings and stakes: $640 • Tools and protective gear: $420 • Waste removal and skip hire: $190 • Signage and educational materials: $100 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Angela

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($110 in total) I made the first payment toward signage and educational materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 8% now ($110). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for signage and educational materials is now scheduled.

  3. Small update. $10 so far, I made the first payment toward waste removal and skip hire.
