Plant 1,600 native trees around the Lotus hillside in Biratnagar
Help us clean and replant the Lotus hillside before the November planting window closes.
🇳🇵 Biratnagar, Koshi, Nepal764 views
The Lotus hillside has been used as an informal dump for years. This August, 92 neighbors turned up for a first cleanup, filling 41 bags in a single morning. Now we want to restore it for good.
We have a plan agreed with the city parks department, including native species selected by a local botanist.
The area floods more each year, and fish have returned for the first time in a decade after our first cleanup. Restoring it will protect homes and bring back shade.
All the labor is volunteered. We just need materials.
Funds buy saplings, gloves, bags, hire of a skip, and signage.
Where the $250 goes:
• Native saplings and stakes: $105
• Tools and protective gear: $50
• Waste removal and skip hire: $70
• Signage and educational materials: $25
Thank you so much.

Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Epe
Rooting for you, Sunil. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours
Sending strength, Sunil. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Biratnagar
