Gianna can't leave home - help build a ramp

Help Gianna regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Gianna has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Gianna can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Gianna's family will cook lunch for the team. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Rooting for you. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Khulna.

    • Wishing Gianna a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

      • Best of luck, Jonathan. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.

        • Hope things get better soon, Jonathan. I hope things turn around soon. I hope April is when things finally get easier. Take care.

          • Hang in there, Jonathan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings.
