For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,800. It will serve about 265 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,800 goes: • Materials: $1,150 • Permits and inspections: $300 • Safety equipment and signage: $110 • Tools hire and delivery: $240 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
