For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 485 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $390
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 6 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
wishing you peace, Tareq. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours. Take care.
Good luck, Tareq. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in.
Hope it all works out, Tareq. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Hope you get there. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Narayanganj.
Hope things get better soon, Tareq. Shared it with a few friends. Greetings from Glasgow.
stay strong, Tareq. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
good luck, Tareq. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Vancouver this morning. Thinking of Narayanganj.
Thinking of you and your family. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
stay strong, Tareq. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
