Leipzig

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,400. It will serve about 189 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,400 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $150 • Permits and inspections: $130 • Materials: $1,120 Thank you for reading my story.
