Paulo's ACL reconstruction can't wait - please help us cover the bill

Paulo was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in February. The surgeon at Saint Francis Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,150, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,500 short.
my father has been in and out of Saint Francis Hospital since February. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,150 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Paulo struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Paulo won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
