Palmira landslide relief - the Marketplace settlement
Neighbors in the Marketplace settlement are rebuilding after the landslide; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The landslide hit the Marketplace settlement on 15 August. My home was one of 19 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $800 goes:
• Clean water and purification supplies: $240
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $170
• Food parcels for displaced families: $185
• Tools and labor for repairs: $205
Thank you for reading my story.

Hang in there, Esperanza. Hope this works out for you. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
Wishing you peace, Esperanza. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Wishing you peace, Esperanza. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Salvador so I could bring a meal.
