Palesa's thyroid cancer treatment fund
Palesa is facing thyroid cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Palesa was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June. The oncology team at Stellenbosch Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Palesa is 27, worked as a bank teller until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Stellenbosch Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Scans and lab work: $320
• Transport to Stellenbosch Regional Medical Center: $150
• Household costs while unable to work: $330
