Raymond was diagnosed with endometriosis requiring surgery in August. The surgeon at Saint Joseph Hospital recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and He is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,350 short. my husband has been in and out of Saint Joseph Hospital since August. The doctors say endometriosis requiring surgery will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Raymond struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Raymond won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $1,350 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $510 • Hospital stay (2 nights): $560 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $70 • Post-operative medication: $70 • Physiotherapy sessions: $110 • Travel and lodging for the family: $30 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Rita
