Pablo's a craniotomy can't wait - please help us cover the bill
A scheduled a craniotomy in November is out of reach without help covering $300 of the cost.

In August I was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect. My surgeon at San Cristóbal de las Casas Orthopedic Institute recommended a craniotomy, and I have been placed on the schedule for November. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $600, and after what the government subsidy will pay, I'm still $300 short.
Doctors at San Cristóbal de las Casas Orthopedic Institute told me an aortic valve defect will get worse without a craniotomy. I work as a care assistant, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $600 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a care assistant have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. I'll not be able to stand for more than ten minutes during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
Where the $300 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $85
• Post-operative medication: $110
• Travel and lodging for the family: $105

Sending good thoughts, Pablo. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of San Cristóbal de las Casas
a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Chiapas. I'll ask around and let you know.
Hang in there. I hope things turn around soon. Don't give up. Love from Bogotá.
Thinking of you and your family, Pablo. This could happen to any of us. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Hang in there. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Amsterdam.
