I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Çankaya Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $750 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $570
• Fitting and training sessions: $80
• Delivery and set-up: $45
• First-year servicing plan: $55
