Maringá
Otávio was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at the Maringá Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Otávio is 48, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Maringá Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,750 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $280 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $95 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200 • Transport to the Maringá Oncology Institute: $175 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Débora
