I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a master's in public health at Addis Ababa Polytechnic, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $500.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Addis Ababa Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $500 goes:
• Final term tuition: $260
• Textbooks and materials: $40
• Outstanding tuition balance: $200
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Hope it all works out, Yohannes. Shared it with a few friends. Please keep us posted. Greetings from Thủ Đức
Thinking of you and your family, Yohannes. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Guarulhos so I could bring a meal. God bless.
