Wangari is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a pharmacy diploma at Kampala Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $550.
The registrar has said Wangari can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Wangari has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Wangari would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Wangari isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Wangari
Outstanding tuition balance is $125 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Fair thing to want to know.
