Sowmya is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an agriculture degree at Howrah Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650. The registrar has said Sowmya can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Sowmya has a 3.9 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Sowmya would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Sowmya isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Howrah Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
