Slamet is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Semarang Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has said Slamet can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Slamet has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Slamet would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Slamet isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $450
• Final term tuition: $160
• Exam and lab fees: $25
• Textbooks and materials: $15

Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Semarang
Thank you. If you're in Semarang I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. I'll keep the page updated.
Study hard! I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Warsaw.
Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Casablanca so I could bring a meal.
Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Riverside so I could bring a meal. Take care.
stay strong. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
