Silas is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at Spokane Community College, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,750.
The registrar has said Silas can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Silas has a distinction average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Silas would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Silas isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Spokane Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,750 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,950
• Final term tuition: $1,200
• Exam and lab fees: $320
• Textbooks and materials: $280
Thank you so much.
