Patrick is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Surrey Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,850. The registrar has said Patrick can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Patrick has a 3.9 average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Patrick would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Patrick isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Surrey Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $3,850 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,250 • Textbooks and materials: $420 • Final term tuition: $2,180 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Douglas
