I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a teaching qualification at Jinja University, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $700. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $700 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $420 • Final term tuition: $240 • Exam and lab fees: $30 • Textbooks and materials: $10 Thank you so much.

Updates from Omondi

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 19% funded and we've started the first stage. - Omondi

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($61 in total) the plan for final term tuition is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. We're at 2% thanks to 2 of you. I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.
