I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a diploma in hospitality management at Seoul Polytechnic, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a shop assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $2,200. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Seoul Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $2,200 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $240 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,750 • Exam and lab fees: $210 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Sending love. I hope things turn around soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Seoul.

Thinking of you. Study hard! We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

      • You're not alone, Mi-sook. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 9 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything

        • So sorry you're going through this, Mi-sook. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Thinking of Seoul.
