Leul is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a law degree at Adama University, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $350.
The registrar has said Leul can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Leul has a distinction average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Leul would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Leul isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Adama University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $350 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $170
• Final term tuition: $135
• Exam and lab fees: $15
• Textbooks and materials: $30
