Khadija is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a computer science degree at Heliopolis Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has said Khadija can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Khadija has a 3.8 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Khadija would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Khadija isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
