Junior is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an agriculture degree at Kingston Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,350.
The registrar has said Junior can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Junior has a distinction average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Junior would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Junior isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $650
• Textbooks and materials: $100
• Final term tuition: $600
