Ji-woo is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a law degree at Incheon Polytechnic, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,950. The registrar has said Ji-woo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ji-woo has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ji-woo would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Ji-woo isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Incheon Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $2,950 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $970 • Final term tuition: $1,650 • Exam and lab fees: $240 • Textbooks and materials: $90 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Ha-joon

  • stay strong. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Incheon.

    • as a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Take care.

      • Thinking of you and your family, Ha-joon. I hope things turn around soon. God bless.

        • Sending strength, Ha-joon. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Abbottabad.
