Gaurav is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at Ludhiana Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $500.
The registrar has said Gaurav can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Gaurav has a 3.9 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Gaurav would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Gaurav isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $500 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $30
• Exam and lab fees: $30
• Outstanding tuition balance: $440
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
