Fernanda is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a nursing degree at Monterrey State College, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has said Fernanda can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Fernanda has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Fernanda would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Fernanda isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Monterrey State College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $850 goes:
• Textbooks and materials: $50
• Exam and lab fees: $80
• Outstanding tuition balance: $720
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
