Farhana is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a nursing degree at Dhaka State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $250. The registrar has said Farhana can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Farhana has a first-class average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Farhana would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Farhana isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $250 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $20 • Exam and lab fees: $25 • Outstanding tuition balance: $205 Glad we found this place.
