Emma is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Edinburgh Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,600. The registrar has said Emma can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Emma has a top-ten-percent average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Emma would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Emma isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Edinburgh Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $1,600 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $220 • Exam and lab fees: $185 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,195 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
