Easton is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an accounting degree at Toronto Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $6,550.
The registrar has said Easton can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Easton has a first-class average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Easton would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Easton isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
