I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in civil engineering at the New Delhi Institute of Technology, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the New Delhi Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $450 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $200
• Final term tuition: $175
• Exam and lab fees: $20
• Textbooks and materials: $55

Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. All the best.
