Brandon is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a pharmacy diploma at the Jacksonville Institute of Technology, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,350.
The registrar has said Brandon can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Brandon has a 3.6 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Brandon would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Brandon isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,050
• Final term tuition: $2,050
• Exam and lab fees: $105
• Textbooks and materials: $145
Glad we found this place.
