One semester away: help Arnel graduate from Davao City Polytechnic
A first-generation student, Arnel needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a degree in civil engineering.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in civil engineering at Davao City Polytechnic, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a warehouse packer to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $900.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.6 average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Davao City Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $900 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $400
• Final term tuition: $410
• Exam and lab fees: $40
• Textbooks and materials: $50
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Updates from Arnel
Good news. Because of your gifts ($75 in total) I made the first payment toward exam and lab fees. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Hope things get better soon, Arnel. This could happen to any of us. Put this on a community board in Malang this morning
