Angel is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a computer science degree at Chattanooga State College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $6,250.
The registrar has said Angel can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Angel has a 3.9 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Angel would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Angel isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $6,250 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $2,600
• Final term tuition: $3,050
• Exam and lab fees: $260
• Textbooks and materials: $340
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
