I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an electrical engineering diploma at the Juazeiro do Norte Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a barista to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,550.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my academic advisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $710
• Exam and lab fees: $70
• Final term tuition: $770
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My neighbor in Messina donated after I showed her your page.
Any update on how things are going in Juazeiro do Norte?
Good luck, Anderson. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Rooting for you, Anderson. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together. All the best
Shared this with my family. Greetings from London
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Pune.
