Amber is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at San Diego Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,350.
The registrar has said Amber can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Amber has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Amber would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Amber isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the San Diego Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,250
• Final term tuition: $2,850
• Exam and lab fees: $155
• Textbooks and materials: $95
