Abosede is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Gwagwalada Polytechnic, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $350.
The registrar has said Abosede can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Abosede has a 3.6 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Abosede would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Abosede isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Gwagwalada Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
