Ekurhuleni
Olivia lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Ekurhuleni General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,000. Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Olivia could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $2,000 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • Delivery and set-up: $35 • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $1,915 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
