Oliver served twelve years; now needs help to get home
An infantry veteran in Los Angeles needs help with a vocational welding course and tools after leaving service with post-traumatic stress.

I served twelve years in the infantry and was discharged in 2023 with post-traumatic stress. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $4,800.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $4,800 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,350
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,500
• Transport to appointments: $290
• Essential household items: $660
Thanks for being kind about this.
