Nokuthula's thyroid cancer treatment fund

Nokuthula was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August. The oncology team at Ekurhuleni Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Nokuthula is 52, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ekurhuleni Regional Medical Center 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
