I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the San Antonio Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,100. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $2,100 goes: • powered wheelchair: $1,700 • Delivery and set-up: $100 • Fitting and training sessions: $300 Every share and every dollar helps.
