I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Jodhpur Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650.
My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $650 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $45
• braille note-taker: $580
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
