Newcastle flood relief - the Riverside district
After the flood, families in the Riverside district need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.

The flood hit the Riverside district on 4 August. My home was one of 46 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $6,800 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,800
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $830
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,800
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,370
Thanks for reading all this.

So sorry you're going through this, Jose. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Sending strength, Jose. I hope things turn around soon. Blessings
Keep going, Jose. Shared this with my family. All the best
