Colombo

For twelve years I have run a phone repair counter in Colombo. In September, a storm that collapsed the roof took a soldering station and testing tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Thursday, and I employed 1 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $550 goes: • Replacing a soldering station and testing tools: $260 • Initial stock: replacement parts: $65 • Shop repairs and licensing: $95 • Working capital for the first month: $130 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Nalin

Updates from Nalin

Update from Colombo: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 57% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you all. We're at 38% now ($208). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for replacing a soldering station and testing tools is now scheduled.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($127 in total) I made the first payment toward initial stock: replacement parts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
